It’s all about dogs and humans

Hi, my name is Claudia! As a dog owner myself, I understand how important it is to have a good relationship with our canine companions.
I can’t say it’s always perfect, nothing is, but there sure is always room for improvement.
My earliest memory is being crazy about a Collie who lived near my Grandmother’s when I was something like 5 years old or so. Whenever we went to visit my Nan, I went to visit the dog first to say hello (go figure).
When we lived in Portugal for a while when I was 6, I fell and hurt my knee. Not long and I was surrounded by street dogs, coming to lick and clean my wound! My Mother went really mad and I didn’t care.
Back in Germany, there was a lady with a German Spitz called Daddy. She owned a flower shop. We would go there after school get her keys and take Daddy out for a walk. Sadly he was run over by a car (not on my watch though)
We’ve moved when I was around 8 and my mum worked at a dry cleaner who had a Poodle called Bonnie. Again, I would go there after school and take her out for a walk.
Think by now you’ll get the idea that I always had a thing for dogs. Sadly I was never allowed to have one when I was a kid.
And when I finally did have my own dog, believe me, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing and sure enough, got a lot wrong. But then I also got a lot right and learnt from my mistakes.
So this is in memory of all the dogs I have ever had and taught me sooo much.
Sonja and Kleinski and the most important one of all Cora, who’s put up with me for 11+ years and with whom I’ve had the deepest connection with. 21 years later, I think of her every day, reminding me every day of how not to do things.
These days I look after a bunch of English Setters, Otto, who’s long gone, Milo, the old boy, Otis and Hardy the French rescue.
And of course, there is Pickle (in the Photo) who is our Working Cocker girl.
A Diva, vocally demanding, very sensitive to lots of things but very confident, very feisty if she needs to be and of course my biggest challenge to date.
After 40+ years of handling dogs, I wished I could say I know it all but I’m sadly far from it.
What I can say though is that do have bags and bags of personal experience, and mistakes I’ve learnt from.
Having spent the past 21 years earning a living as a Sports Therapist and looking after other peoples dogs for the past 10 years, I feel my path is heading more and more towards working with Canines and their Humans. And yes, my dogs have benefitted from Massages too.
I am currently enrolled at Canine Principles, having signed up for a Diploma Course in Canine Behaviour and another one in Holistic Behaviour which is more about how nutrition affects canine behaviour an area where I have done a lot of research and learnt a thing or two.
So if you feel I could be of help to you and your dog(s), get in touch and we’ll take it from there.
